Compassionate Care Rooted in Traditional Birthwork & Herbalism to Nurture & Support Families from Conception to Postpartum.
Welcome to mamacura. I am so glad you are here. This is a safe space to celebrate, honor, and witness our constant rebirth through the rites of passage of birth and life’s transitions, whether that is connecting to our wombs, growing life, or nurturing new beginnings.
My Offerings
If you are seeking to balance your hormones, connect more deeply with your womb, or prepare for conception, I’m here to share self-care impulses, somatic practices, gentle herbal support, and resources to nurture your body and mind.
01. Womb Care
As a woman, mother, and trained doula, I provide holistic support from conception to early postpartum. As your companion, I honor your wishes and your unique journey, blending traditional indigenous practices with evidence-based care.
02. Doula Support
Honoring and celebrating the thresholds of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with rituals provides stability and security. Mama Blessings, Closing Ceremonies, and Sobadas offer wonderful opportunities to release the old and welcome the new.
My name is Clara, and I’m a Quechua-Indigenous doula based in Berlin, offering support in English, Spanish, and German.
Becoming a mother was a transformative experience that inspired my passion for holding space for others navigating their own, unique path to parenthood. With a deep respect for all birthing journeys, I am committed to providing holistic, culturally sensitive care for every family, no matter the setting or type of birth you choose.
Birthkeeper, Postpartum Tender, Doula, herbalist, sister, mother.
Testimonial
"Having Clara as our doula was an absolute joy. From our first meeting, her warm and caring nature made us feel instantly at ease. With her blend of birth knowledge and holistic care, she brought so much comfort and support to our journey. Clara's presence was like a calming breeze, guiding us with gentle reassurance. Even after the birth of our daughter, she continued to care for our little family, helping us find our groove in those early weeks. Her kindness, wisdom, and genuine love for what she does made this experience not just special but truly heartwarming. We couldn’t have asked for a better companion on this adventure."

A doula (ancient Greek: servant; the one who mothers the mother) is a trained professional and companion providing continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to families before, during, and after childbirth. While a midwife handles the medical aspects of birth, a doula complements this care by providing continuous non-medical support, comfort measures, and advocacy to ensure a positive and empowering birth experience.

Births have historically and traditionally always been accompanied by experienced women to support and hold the new mother and family-to-be through their birth journey and beyond. Continuous care during birth has numerous benefits, as supported by the latest scientific evidence. According to a 2020 study, continuous support during labor is associated with a 39% decrease in the likelihood of cesarean delivery, a shortening of the length of labor by 25%, a 15% increase in the likelihood of spontaneous vaginal birth, and a 10% decrease in the use of any medications. The presence of a doula helps reduce stress and anxiety, promoting a smoother and more empowering birth process.

Doulas provide significant benefits for partners, helping them feel more confident and involved in the birth process. By offering guidance and reassurance, doulas enable partners to participate in meaningful ways, strengthening the emotional support for the birthing person. This support helps to feel more relaxed, effective, and staying present, enhancing the overall birth experience for everyone involved.

A doula can still support you as you navigate life as a hormonal, cyclical being. Understanding your body and how to live in harmony with your hormones is valuable for everyone, regardless of gender identity or reproductive choices. This knowledge is also beneficial if you plan on conceiving in the future, helping you consciously prepare your body for pregnancy.
